The Joli Berlin Afterparty during OMR 2025 week in Hamburg was the latter. Hosted in collaboration with Hinge Germany and Sleek Magazine, the night took place at Grill Royal Hamburg — one of the most iconic restaurant and event venues in the city, known for its sharp interiors, its reputation and the kind of crowd that knows exactly where to be on any given night.

The venue capacity was around one hundred people. Two hundred showed up.

By the time the three DJs were in full flow, the dance floor had dissolved into something closer to a collective experience — packed bodies, cocktails overhead, red and blue light cutting through the crowd. The energy was the kind you feel before you see it. Influencers, models, media professionals and creative industry figures filled every corner of the space, and the bouncers at the door had long since stopped letting anyone new inside.

Documenting a night like this requires a different kind of photography. Composed shots give way to instinct. There were moments where the only way to move through the crowd was to hold the camera above my head and navigate by feel, trusting the frame would find something worth keeping. It usually did.

The result was a full set of event images that captured not just the night but the atmosphere that made it worth capturing in the first place.
